Haarlem is right in between Amsterdam and Bloemendaal aan Zee, So when the weather is not so good, go and Visit Amsterdam, and if the weather allows it, go and visit the beach.

Or stay in Haarlem and rent a boat to cruise around town. See the Adriaan from the water. Go take a Weihen Stephaner beer at cafe De Waag, on the corner of Damstraat en Spaarne, right outside the Teylersmuseum.
