Kyle Obley replied over 4 years agoI love this place. Everything is either grown there in the greenhouse or in one of their farms just outside of Amsterdam. The menu changes everyday depending on what's fresh. I've only been around the winter months so the menu was always centered around root vegetables and meat. I'm looking forward to a spring/summer visit. If you don't get the wine pairing, it's actually pretty reasonable for what it is...but the same can be said if you go for the wine. 45-55€ w/o wine, 100€ w/ wine. Make reservations relatively far in advance, especially for Saturday nights.

Sarah Marsden replied over 4 years agoHad a great night at Pont 13 a couple of years ago and have always intended to go back. The restaurant is a moored former ferry boat which makes for an interesting atmostphere. Service was excellent (rare for Amsterdam!) and the food was also very good.

Natalie Kozlova replied over 3 years agoQuite a pretty but not expensive restaurant, good fresh food, reasonable selection of wines.. People from the shiny offices of the business area of Amsterdam (Zuid-Oost) are going there to have an after-work dinner with friends or collegues. Nicely located: outside the centre but perfectly reachible both by public transport (metro / train station Amstel) as well as by car.

Billy Robbins replied over 3 years agoThis is a quiet little spot on the Amstel, within biking distance of everything you could possibly want. The room was beautiful, and the people were very helpful. The breakfast and the little market around the corner saved me time and unnecessary expense.

Kyle Obley replied over 3 years agoVery small and cozy. It's off the beaten path, but well worth it. You can either have the menu or order individual items. It isn't cheap, but nor is it crazy expensive. About €50 before drinks. The chef is very cool and is more than welcome to talk to you about the place or the food. All in all, I highly recommend it. Here's a link to a NY Times article about it: http://travel.nytimes.com/2009/05/24/travel/24bites.html?ref=dining

Kyle Obley replied over 3 years agoWhile the food there is quite good, the real draw is for their cocktails. They have a very impressive array and I'd recommend just telling one of their "cocktail shakers" what kind of drink you like and your favorite type of liquor and see what they come up with. I've never been disappointed. Drinks are around €10 and the meal is around €45. As for the food, very good, very Italian. There is no menu, they simply ask if there is anything you can not or don't want to eat and then it's all a surprise from there. Worth the trek down South!

Jonathan Marks replied over 3 years agoFood is fine, albeit expensive. They decor is rather like visiting a house in Jakarta, except a house in Jakarta wouldn't have so many tables. The tempo is fast when they are busy, like during the IBC in September. Been there 4 or 5 times, but only give them an average of 7 out of 10. OK but not spectacular. Perhaps Dopplr could add a line in this overview template:
What should the restaurant change to get a higher rating next time?
Be careful they don't price themselves out of the market.

John Jones replied over 3 years agoThe Rijks museum is closed for a major refurbishment at the moment with just a couple of rooms of 'greatest hits', e.g. Rembrandt's 'Night Watch' on show. We visited April 2009 and security checks meant a queue of over an hour - so book online in advance. The same goes for Anne Franks' House.
