Great quaint hotel, minimal comforts but who needs more than a bed and shower? Friendly staff, reasonably priced, fantastic neighborhood, nice breakfast every day.

This is the best hotel I've stayed in Amsterdam. If you're stuck for somewhere to stay then this is definitely a good place to start.

Lloyd Krulewitz replied over 4 years agoMy girlfriend and I have stayed at a place called "The Bulldog" in Amsterdam located on the border of the "Red Light" district. Inexpensive, breakfast included, internet ready computers available and their own coffee shop next door. This place is not fancy but clean and friendly. We've stayed at this same place on 5 different trips to Holland. Extremely convenient location to the city. We would definitely recommend staying at the "Bulldog".

Eric Brown replied over 3 years agoIt's more like a hostel. Pretty inexpensive for Amsterdam. A younger, back-packing type crowd but I'm in my 40s and still really like it. Busy, hectic place, so not for those seeking a quiet place to stay. It has a bar on the ground floor. It's only around 10 mins walk from Central Station and is on the edge of the Red Light District, so very central.

Jeremy Ettinghausen replied over 3 years agoThis was not a cheap stay by any means, but it was one of the nicest hotels I've ever been in. 6 rooms, beautifully decorated and the best service I've enjoyed. Breakfasts delivered to your room, teas, coffees wines and snacks are all included in the price which softens the blow a little. The Hotel 717 is really well located a few minutes walk from Jordaan and the 9 Streets and if you are planning a romantic weekend break, I can't think of a better place.

Hakan Nyberg replied over 3 years agoLute Suites – just outside Amsterdam, in the quiet area of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel you will find seven suites, adjacent to a restaurant that is trying to experiment with a new style of cooking. The restaurant is not exactly up to par, but the suites are well designed and fun sto stay in; particularly if you care about who people like Marcel Wanders or Maarten Baas are. Please note that the Lute Suites are not located at the address listed on dopplr.com (I guess the info comes from TabletHotels.com) but at De Oude Molen 5 in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel. A proper review with images PLUS a downloadable pdf with driving directions in Dutch at the following address: http://www.guidebook.se/?p=676

Hakan Nyberg replied over 3 years agoThe Dylan – competent, confident and comfortable. The concierge is awesome, with enough fingerspitzengefühl to recommend the not so obivous places. Rooms are very Anouska Hempel-ish, (which is of course no coincidence), and the place is pleasant. Not the cheapest option in Amsterdam but still highly recommended. Maarten Van Wyk replied over 2 years agoI booked this hotel through booking.com I had a single room. The hotel is impeccable. The staff are all pro's. This is part of the Swiss Hotel chain. Clean, modern, bright and definitely worth it's 4 star rating. Nice bar on the ground floor, with a little courtyard in the back. The breakfast is a little pricey @ 20 euro, but nobody is forcing you to take it. You are a hop and a skip from museums, Leidseplein, park, swank shopping. It is perfectly located for me; away from the stoner college students in the city center. I will go back. No second thoughts.
