  Biking is definitely the thing to do with kids who know how to pedal without the extra wheels. We did it for the whole day There are great small bike rentals. Unfortunately many of them have problems with kids bike availability. The best bet is the most boring. Mac Bike, withe their premier outlet at the Centraal Station (at the eastern end) with heaps of bikes in all imaginable shapes an sizes available.
