Sveinn H.Svansson replied over 3 years agoBest satay in Kuala Lumpur
The best satay you can get is to be found in the suburb of Kajang. Take a taxi and ask them to bring you to "Restoran Lama Satay Kajang" Not sure what the place is actually called, but this means the old satay restaurant in Kajang. Ask for satay Kambing and Satay Rusa. That is goat and Deer. Both superb. Dont fear goaty taste. Nothing of the sort. Dont ask for satay babi, as that is pork and remember where you are. Dont expect beer to be served.
This tip has the address "Kajang" -
Peter Wardle replied over 3 years agoWine and Food
KL has a superb BYOF (Bring Your Own Food) wine store, Vintry, in Damansara Heights (the original) and a new, larger location in Petaling Jaya. Set up with a wine store up front and a Starbucks-style lounge area in the rear. Have food delivered in from any of the surrounding restaurants in D' Heights or select from Vintry's small-plates menu. Wines from old and new world vinyards at very fair prices. Great evening whether with company or alone. Google vintry kuala lumpur for details.

Sara Hamed replied over 2 years agoFor old school colonial charm and exquisite culinary detail- Carcosa Sri Negara (or head there for a High Tea session) For street style 'makan' in a budget chic surrounding - Central market (upstairs). There's also a superb local restaurant in a converted Chinese tea room up there. Inspired local and Laotian fusion in sublime setting - Tamarind Hill

Kiran Nagesh replied over 2 years agoGo to Jalan Alor in the golden triangle. Middle of town, a street full of restaurants, cheap as chips and golden.

Bee Hong Tan replied over 2 years agoGo on a clear day so you can see the whole of Kuala Lumpur spread at your feet. Best time is about sunset so you can see the transition of KL from day to the twinking city lights at night. There are a few restaurants up there, so you can dine, drink and enjoy the view. Pity there's no alcohol available. I went to Haven, which offers both local and western cuisine. Prices reasonable.

Bee Hong Tan replied over 2 years agoThis is a cool spot where you can see the city of KL spread at your feet. Best time to be there is just before sunset so you will be able to see KL by day and later, by night. The city's twinkling lights are simply mesmerising. There are a few good restaurants up there, so you can dine and enjoy the view. No alcohol available though. I went to Haven which serves both local and western cuisine.

Martin Archer replied about 1 year agoThe first authentic Spanish style tapas bar in KL- La Bodega opened back in 1999 at this location on Jalan Telawi in Bangsar. The original bar has now expanded to include a deli next door and lounge with jazz music above the deli. The original tapas bar expanded shortly after opening to add a new bistro dining section and more outdoor tables under large awnings on the pavement area. La Bodega has a warm, inviting atmosphere- with terracota tiled floors, dark wood furniture and an impressive large main timber bar with bar stools for casual drinks and tapas.
