Hotel Basico. I would visit Playa just to stay here again. there's a white Polaroid camera chained to a mirrored and padded drawer under the bed, which is in the middle of the small but brilliantly designed room flanked by exposed plumbing and tub on one wall and enormous sliding glass window opening to the picturesque alley below on the other. on your way in after an afternoon lounging on the canopy beds on the roof eating cerviche, run down to Babe's across the street for $3 mango margarita in a Big Gulp-sized to-go cup. http://www.hotelbasico.com/

Hotel Fusion, it's located on 6th street between the beach and 5th avenue. Their food is really good.
