Roma Neighbourhood: A secret jewel of Mexico City

Colonia Roma or Roma Neighbourhood is one of the best kept secrets of Mexico City. A district built at the end of the 19th century to host the city's elite. It is now home of Mexico City's middle-class who live in a charming and outstanding French-taste architecture area plenty of cafés, bookstores, restaurants, galerias and that je-ne-sais-quoi. Plus: No tourists!

Beautiful, comfortable, and atmospheric restaurant in colonial style. Tasty food and good service; we tried the fixed-price menu which will fill you up for the day.

Beautiful stylish cafe and restaurant immediately behind the cathedral and near the Templo Mayor. We had drinks rather than food, at a quiet moment, so didn't try the restaurant part full-on. Will go back!

Great place to eat a classic mexican pozole! Medium size is enough for dinner. For those who don't like pozole there are some other mexican dishes. Pozole is 2 for 1 on Wednesdays.

Spanish food, it's a clasic in downtown, and it is very frequently by politicians and local media stars, it´s not cheap, but it is a good place to be in sundays, not a tourist restaurant
