Linda Jackson replied over 4 years agoMercado de San Juan is great for fruits, vegetables, meat and lots of imported products - cheese, oriental sauces, etc. Central de Abastos is the central market (enormous) which is great for everything -- from fish & seafood, meats & poultry, flowers (magnificent), and dry goods (esp chiles, nuts, raisins, spices, etc.) -- wonderful Av. Masaryk in Polanco has all the designer stores La Condesa has more boutique-y type shopping

Ricardo Rodríguez replied over 4 years agoKind of complicated question... Agreed with the Mercado de San Juan tip, it's a great place to find a lot of fresh fruits that you won't find in any other market, cheeses, pastas, special ingredients and other edible animals. A little pricey, but the experience is worth. Located in street Ernesto Pugibet, very near from downtown. La Ciudadela is a great place for shopping mexican crafts. Even you don't come searching for designer boutiques in Masaryk you should walk along the street to do some what I call observation tourism and enjoy one of the most glamorous streets in Mexico and sit to drink a coffee or enjoy an ice cream.
