Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia + Add a trip

The Ulaanbaatar Hotel is the classic with grand state-socialist style and a very good location. The Bayangol is popular with the foreign business and mining crowd, partly because of its bar; also a good location, but little charm. The Chinggis Khan is getting a bit further out of the downtown area, though still walkable. The Kempinksi Khan Palace is quite a ways for a walk. All of these are somewhere around or above US$100. Cheaper options also abound, the Mika is clean and has a nice breakfast at a good location, I've heard good things about the Narantul and the Bishrelt
