Look no further when it comes to choosing a place for your stay in Marrakech. Everything in this riad (guesthouse) was just perfect when I was there: spacious and clean suites decorated with a lot of style, a good locally inspired breakfast and a breathtaking roof terrace.

We stayed at Nejma Lounge. Owned by a European couple (like most Riads), but run by a really nice college student named Abdel. It's located very close to the (west?) gate, so finding a taxi is really easy (and cheap!) You can also walk to the BIG square in 10-15 minutes.
They offer pickup at the airport for an additional charge, which, IMHO is completely worth it to not deal with getting scammed by the other cabbies.
If you arrive in town at night it might seem a little sketchy if you've never spent time in an old city like Marrakesh, but don't worry you'll be fine :)

Wolfgang Wopperer replied over 4 years agoIf you're looking for a budget accommodation in the Medina, by all means check out the Hotel Sherazade. It's located in a small side street and is quiet, clean and absolutely beautiful. The Moroccan-German management is very competent and friendly, the breakfast served on the roof terrace is superb.
Prices are from MAD 180 per room and night (that's about EUR 16!); be sure to make a reservation since it quickly fills up in the main travel seasons.
They also offer beautiful appartments and bungalows in and around Marrakech.

It's expensive but it's a real oasis in the old quarter -- near to everything -- and getting back there after a hot a dusty day walking around the Medina was a serious pleasure.

Carla Albertuni replied over 3 years agoGreat place, out of the city. No electricity only gives it more charm when the sun sets down. Food is homemade-style, delicious. Breakfast is served by the pool under the trees. Perfect place for couples. Perfect lace to rest. I recommend it.

Dormain Geyer Drewitz replied over 2 years agoIncredibly romantic - we arrived fairly early in the morning, hoping to just drop our bags, but we were taken up to the roof for mint tea and cookies while we registered and then taken to our gorgeous room. Rose petals were on the pillows and towels - so nice. We also had dinner there, alone by the fireplace one one edge of the candlelit courtyard. One of the most romantic nights of our honeymoon!
