  For a reasonably priced and atmospheric hotel in Beirut, try the Mayflower in Hamra. Short walking distance from the AUB and Hamra street with the Pigeon Rocks, Solidere and the Corniche within 15-30 min walk. The Duke of Wellington bar downstairs is pleasant and has a good crowd on weekends. However, what really makes Mayflower is the rooftop pool with views over Beirut and the sea. Good spot to grab a morning swim or watch the sunset while sipping an al-Mazaa.
