The Pearl hotel in Cheju Island is a good place for a couple night's stay. It's located in a clean part of town that's not too far from the beach and things to do.

If you speak English, their service doesn't expand much past them handing you a room key and showing you on a calculator how much you owe them.

The rooms are clean, have balconies, and a Family Mart is conveniently located across the street. Choose from a "traditional room" or a "western" style room.

It is what it is: a tourist's hotel.

A unique property that sets the scene for a quiet and relaxing getaway. Completely atypical of hotels in Korea, this is a true boutique experience, with strong emphasis on their design credentials. With a name that translates to "Grape" in english, there may be justified fear of being kitch, but fortunately it isn't.

It's definitely not for everyone, but worth investigating if looking to avoid the crowds of Jeju's larger hotels.
