Amy Mawson replied over 2 years agoIf you need to be near UN agencies or US Embassy, Gigiri Homestead is great and very good value (www.gigirihomestead.com). It's also near the Village Market shopping mall which has a movie theater, bowling alley, various restaurants and shops. It's also where they hold the masaai craft market on Fridays.
In the Upper Hill area of Nairobi which is near Nairobi hospital and not too far from town at all, there is the very good value Country Lodge hotel (www.countrylodge.co.ke). It is the cheaper cousin of the Fairview Hotel and is located 100m from it. This means you get cheaper rooms but can use the restaurants at the Fairview. Pretty good deal.
