David Schlesinger replied over 4 years agoI usually stay at the Hyatt Regency in Shinjuku, since the location is really convenient for me, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The Hyatt is about a five minute walk from Shinjuku Station, and it's really easy to get to Harajuku and Shibuya from there on the Yamanote line. My office is near Suidobashi, and that's also a quick ride from Shinjuku, but on the Chuo/Soba line.
The Keio Plaza is also conveniently located in the same area, and is quite nice as well.

Martin Archer replied over 4 years agoI have been staying regularly for a couple of years now at CENTURY SOUTHERN TOWER in Shinjuku. www.southerntower.co.jp The hotel is situated in the upper floors of new office tower- on Southern Terrace at Shinjuku station-and access to the JR station is a 2 minute walk. I find the hotel offers an attractive combination of good value for a 4 star hotel, great location , and stylish, contemporary design. All rooms have great views, free high speed broadband, and modern functional bathrooms.

Andrew Shuttleworth replied over 4 years agoThe Peninsula, Ritz Carlton, Mandarin Oriental and Conrad are four of the new top class hotels here.
If you are looking for a nice, classy hotel with good access the Mitsui Garden Hotel in Ginza is nice and popular, although the rooms are small.

Richard Byers replied over 4 years agoFor the lower budget travellr, there's a few places i'ved stay with, Sakura hotels for short stays but watch out for backpackers, Sakura guesthouses and apartments for longer stays, or if your budget is medium to high, Space Design offer very nice apartments at a number of places around Tokyo, i stayed in Kagurazaka last August which i liked as it was away from the tourists and gives you a better feeling of everyday Japanese life.

Matias Santiago replied over 4 years agoI am staying at the Royal Park Hotel in Tokyo, http://www.rph.co.jp/english/index.html , I don't know much the city but this is a beautiful area and is very centrally located. It has 5 restaurants and excellents views of the city.
I will need to travel often to Tokyo on business and probably stay on the same hotel since accommodation facilities meet what I was expecting. Service is also great.

Ben Fullerton replied over 3 years agoI like staying at the Andon Ryokan - it's a beautiful (and cheap!) modern traditional-style Japanese ryokan. It's a little way out, but it's really close to a metro station (Minowa on the Hibiya line), and it's within walking distance of the Asakusa temple area. The rooms are small, but perfectly formed, and there are shared bathrooms on every floor. But it's also cheap, a unique experience, and a lovely place to come back to. The scrambled egg on toast in the morning is also really good too.

John Bae replied over 2 years agoRitz Carlton in Tokyo Midtown has amazing views but kind of scary to think the Japan is earthquake prone and one is so high up. Conrad Shinjuku is very sleek and nice. I like the Westin in Ebisu the most however b/c of its quiet location away from the bustle of Tokyo (although only 1 stop to Shibuya). If you stay for Tokyo for 1 week plus at a time, you will come to appreciate this peaceful location (a lot!)
