Is it true that in August practically every office or shop in Milan is closed because every citizen has left for a holiday to either the sea or the mountains?

Sean Perry replied over 3 years agoA lot of offices and shops will close, but some things will remain open, although even Supermarkets tend to close earlier. It is certainly a lot emptier in August.

C van Swelm replied over 3 years agothanks Sean, i think I might reschedule my trip then. Any suggestions near Milan? I am thinking about Varese or staying in Tirano a little longer.
