BAR BASSO where all designer gather together at the end of the night

BAR BASSO one of the oldest bar in Milan and very well known for the milanese aperitivo NEGRONI - gin, red martini and campari. I suggest to try it! If you are in town for the Furniture Fair usually by the end of the night you can meet there all designers from all the world within a terrific atmosphere! see you there

RITA the best Cocktails in town

RITA quite difficult to find but as soon as you get there and after the first amazing drink you are ready to spend all night trying all different cocktails. Food is amazing too ad the apertivo (drink and some free food) is very glamour. the atmosphere is very friendly and you can meet there all sort of people from very stylish to very casual enjoy it!

    Colonne di San Lorenzo

The Colonne di San Lorenzo is the best-known Roman ruin in Milan. It's located in the hearth of Milan in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo and south of the columns you can admire one of the medieval gates of the city. In spring/summer time, during the evening it's a perfect location where to sip a beer engaging with a cool breeze and surrounded by lots of milanese people!

Traditional Milanese food in Zona Tartona

In the otherwise quiet neighborhood around the Via Tortona and Via Savone you can find this traditional Italian restaurant that's open for lunch and dinner. The restaurant is separate from the lunch place and in summer (or when the weather is good), you can eat outside in the courtyard. Last time, I had the Angus beef. My entire company was jealous for the taste of the beef.

It's a popular place, both for a business lunch as well as dinner

    Rocket

In Zona Ripamonti, Rocket is one of the better bars / clubs Milan currently has. It's not classy-Milano, maybe it's more for the underground-minded, I wouldn't know how to characterize it really... For some good music, great people and good atmosphere, don't miss out on this one...

Incredible value restaurant - Il Giardino dei Segreti

Client took me to this incredible restaurant, slightly out of the centre. Very no-nonse deco, busy atmosphere but gorgeous food. Prices were very reasonable (around 8€ for antipasti, 12-20€ for primi/secondi). We tried a lot of excellent antipasti, secondi were fantastic too. The place seems to be specialised in steak as they had beautiful (dark red, marbled) cuts displayed in the counter display next to the antipasti buffet.

There is a wonderful old-fashioned inn near Trezzano, called the Osteria Alla Grande. http://www.osteriaallagrande.com/ See a photo here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/whambrands/3368040646/

Milano, via delle Forze Armate, 405 P.Iva 13387750154 02.489.11166 (Closed Sunday and Monday)

Excellent traditional food and wonderfully eccentric innkeeper - who is running a campaign to preserve the endangered species of innkeepers against the encroachment of burgers and pizzas.

    Very good value.

An excellent restaurant is Trattoria La Pesa (Via Giovanni Fantoni, 26, Milano - 02 4035907), a nice and tiny restaurant with marvellous typical italian food. Last time I spent 35 Euros each but only because i had a very expensive Brunello di Montalcino wine (35 Euros a bottle), choosing less expensive wines that could get to 25-30 Euros. They have a fantastic wine list, very good unknown wines for 12/15 Euros! And the young owners are really funny and kind! I found it out from the Corriere della Sera restaurant list, and that's another point in favour. You have to go there to taste real italian cuisine, I promise! It's a bit far away from the center, you need to get there with a taxi, but still it's sooo worth the expense.

    Marchesi for brioche and coffee.

Wonderful baker Princi on Via Speronari or fishmonger/crudo bar Da Claudio in Brera for a frenetic stand-up lunch (very Milanese).

Pane e Acqua (www.paneacqua.com/) has fabulous food and a wonderfully idiosyncratic, but low key fit out. It's on a quiet back street in the Magenta neighbourhood, so if far more local than many of the other current darlings.

Grom for pistachio gelati or almond granita anytime.

Trattoria Degli Orti – a fantastic little place where the atmosphere and the cooking compensates for the fact that it's a bit off the beaten track and that ordering is quite exciting as none of the staff speaks a word of English. This IS Italy! Five stars! More here: http://www.guidebook.se/?p=423

Monica and Rossano, the owners of this restaurant, are fantastic people with a devotion for their job. Once you step in you realize that La Bettola di Piero is not a common restaurant: it is a temple of fine wines and delicious food. It is not a hip place but it is known to all the most important artists and TV people in Milano. Still, it keeps its fresh and modest look, along with the warmth of the staff. I’ve had the pleasure to have dinner there multiple times and I use to go there at least once a week to say my prayer to the best Italian food. The cuisine has roots in the Piedmont and Lombard tradition, with influences of Southern cuisine. A mix you will fall in love with! This restaurant is the favorite one of many TV, cinema and theater people who work in the neighborhood and it's easy to bump into one of them while sitting at a table.

Trattoria tradizionale milanese economicissima e di buona qualità, con un servizio molto veloce. Gestita da una famiglia simpatica che probabilmente fa lo stesso menu dai tempi di Radetzky. Andateci finché dura.

Place for models & bottles. Will pack up so book in advance or go "early" (i.e. 7.30-8pm should be OK on a Saturday). Medium-price range. Good food. But most come for the atmosphere and eye-candy.

Not truly a place "to eat" but for sure a place where you can taste and drink great wines and spend some time with friends. Antonio, the owner, has a great passion for wine and will help you to choose one according to your taste. From a wine lover, for wine lovers.

Osteria del Laghetto is a lovely restaurant just outside Milan, near Milano Fiera. Ideal place to go after visiting Rho Fiera for events or meeting, you can eat genuine food, cooked according to traditional recipes from old Milan like "Cassoeula" or "Busèca". Osteria del Laghetto is in the middle of a peaceful green area, waiters are kind and polite, hams and salami are prepared directly by father of Claudio (the owner), a 80-some years old man who also loves to take care of quality in the restaurant!
