Aside from the fact that the 60% of the world's most significant works of art are in Italy and HALF that number is in Florence alone (UNESCO), this is where the important humanistic movement really took flight in the 15th century- due mainly to the Medici (fascinating family).

Ok, ok, I won't bore you with history (sorry, it is my passion). If you are searching for an experience that is really cool and UNIQUE, I suggest taking a little tour through the winding streets outside the city center driving a lovingly restored Fiat 500. Who offers this service? The ultra-super-cool 500 Touring Club. Each car has a name and personality and you can pick a tour (we did the wine tasting tour- driving through breathtaking scenery and ending in a medieval villa that makes their own wine and olive oil- yummy). Check it out and then tell me that I am not correct. Ciao!!! www.500touringclub.com

I liked Florence because I felt really comfortable walking around its streets. I enjoyed every corner, every window, every lost street. I highly recommend to also give it a try to Florence by night. After dinner, try a walk around the city. Trust me, you'll enjoy it!

    My favourites:

The best coffee, i had it in a little place in the corner of via faenza and via nazionale. The best artistic moments, Uffizi and Academia Galleries. The best corner, Via Inferno and Via Purgatorio.

The people, the service and the location made Helvetia & Bristol a great place to stay for a short trip. The smaller size of the hotel makes the whole experience of staying in a hotel much more personal and tailored to your visit.

If you're not staying here, at least enjoy a lunch on their terrace which has beautiful views of Florence and the surrounding area.
