In Certaldo alto, the higher part of the city, the historic center, is one of Tuscany's Micheli Star restaurants. Osteria del Vicario.

Down below in the newer village, my favorites are Trattoria Casalinga ( housewife's) with a real Tuscan Mamma in the kitchen and a full meal with wine for 15 € or hidden behind the pastry shop facing the Piazza, is Dolce Follie's wine bar. The front has mom's fabulous pastries but hidden away is a tiny dining room with some of the best food I have had in Tuscany!
