Sebastiano Valenti replied over 2 years agoWe call it "Tavola Calda" (litterally, "Hot Table") but to give you a better idea, it could be translated in "TakeAwayStreetFood". Every BAR/CAFES of the city has a table wich expose these pieces.
Arancini, are fried rice balls coated with breadcrumbs. The main type of "arancino" sold in Sicilian cafes are "arancini al ragù", which typically consist of meat, peas, rice and mozzarella. Many cafes also offer "arancini al burro" (arancini with butter), or specialty arancini, such as "arancini ai funghi" (mushrooms) and "arancini alle melanzane" (eggplant).
