Kolaportid down by the old harbor is great for local stuff (food and handicraft), otherwise shopping is on Laugarvegur and in malls (Kringlan is the best).

Kolaportid is only open on the weekends, otherwise there are plenty of shops in and around downtown within walking distance which sells lots of handmade and local arts and crafts.
