  For those seeking authentic Kerala village food, try Thampurans on the way to Vizhinjam (junction after Kovalam). If you dont keep your eyes peeled you will miss this. Run by two old ladies, the restaurant is basic and functional, but the lunch is interesting. Nothing fancy, but a good village meal alright... with fish and tapioca. No airconditioning or fancy interiors. Certainly not for those keen on the settings
