Calcutta, the city of Joy, is where I was born and brought up.I have a strange attachment with Calcutta as I have spent more than 25 years of my life here since birth. Never thought that I would miss my city so much before leaving for Dhaka. Miss everything about this place; Nandan Cinema, its language accent, road side Chinese restaurant, panipuri(fried crisp bread with potato, chilly paste & tamarind water), National Library and of course my work area Salt Lec, sector V where I received my professional training, a treasure for life..

If you are looking for authentic Bengali cuisine then Bhajahari Manna , 6 Ballygunge place . For chinese you can try Kim Lin or Bei Jing at Chinatown or Mainland China , Silver Grill, Bar B Cue . For continenetal Mocambo , Peter Cat , at Park Street

I've eaten here once and recall that the food was really excellent. Plenty of middle class locals visit here and although the service isn't great, it's worth putting up with for the quality of food!
