If it is truly a lunch on a budget you're looking for, the only stop is the Gourmet Parlour on Bridge Street. Everyday features homemade soups, sandwiches a hot meal and baked goods. It's all takeaway. No seats. You can stuff your face for a fiver.

For quality sit down grub on a budget, try Cafe Victor, just across the Bridge and hang a left on Kennedy Parade. Cafe Victor is in the basement of the first set of businesses along the river. Again, a limited menu, but homemade, local, organic and delicious. The hot meal option is €8.50 and Quiche and sald for €7.50. Good selection of soups.
