clarke thomas replied over 4 years agoLangham Place in Mong Kok, when I'm working around Kowloon/Central. It's a 4-5star that's immersed in the local non-expat area. It's about 15 minute MTR to Central or 15 min to Kowloon Tong to the KCR. Cost wise it's cheaper then places I stay in the US/Europe, but with far better service.

Richard Moross replied over 4 years agoMy favourite hotel in the world is the Mandarin Oriental Landmark, in Central. It's not cheap, but if you can manage to wangle one of Mandarin Oriental's special offers go for a L600 corner room, it's easily the best hotel room I've ever stayed in: huge for HK (600ft), beautifully designed with a circular glass bathroom and large round tub. Indulgent, smart and super-comfortable.

The only downside is that there's no view to speak of, but who cares, you're right next to the airport train terminal and the Landmark mall and 5 mins walk to Lang Kwai Fong.

Martin Archer replied over 4 years agoMetropark Hotel in Causeway Bay is a relatively new 3- 4 star hotel in a convenient location- 3 minutes walk to Tin Hau MTR station- and with pleasant views overlooking Victoria Park and the Harbour. Rooms a bit on the small side- but come with contemporary furnishings, free broadband access- and 90% of rooms have great harbour views. Good rooftop swimming pool and fitness centre. Excellent value as alternative to Central or Wanchai hotels.

Patti Lord replied over 4 years agoI've stayed at Langham Place Hotel in Kowloon and while I wouldn't say it's a great "find", the buffet is HUGE and includes fresh squeezed juices, the location offers quick access to everything from the Ladies Market to Starbucks in the Langham Mall, beds are comfy, and internet access reliable. Highlights of the hotel imho: The rooftop pool which is great for watching the sunset into the smog: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pattiroll/3097797411/in/set-72157611019693522/ The spa is expensive but very tranquil. Great place to shower/freshen up and have some tea & fruit after a long flight before your room is ready. www.chuanspa.com.hk

Vinko T. replied over 4 years agoAnother great and recent addition to Hong Kong hotels is W Hotel at Kowloon MTR station.

It has great restaurants and the adjoining mall is filled with some of the most exclusive shopping in Hong Kong. It also has an ice skating rink and a 11 cinemas theater.

David Christie replied over 4 years agoThis is the second time I have stayed at the Intercontinental Grand Stamford. Its pretty good. Expensive but a lovely view IF YOU ASK FOR THE RIVER VIEW. Many travellers have suffered with a view of nada.
The breakfast deal is too weird to understand, but the buffet is Alladin's cave of food if youre into it.

Mikko Tuomainen replied over 4 years agoConrad Hong Kong offers nice views and good location. Short connection to all major business locations. Good Conrad quality and Hhonors benefits available!
Hong Kong park is very nicely located, 3 minutes walking from Conrad. Park creates lots of value especially if you are traveling with kids. There is a good playing ground and lots of space to walk around in a middle of metropol. Also The Peak Tram Station is very close.

linas zajankauskas replied over 4 years agoMandarin Oriental is a classic. Very comfy, and affordable if you get a deal through expedia or hotels.com.
W Hong Kong is very nice. New hotel, above Elements mall, so convenient for the in-town check-in for Airport Express. The mall also has all sorts of eating places. The gym and pool are very good.

Simon Power replied over 4 years agoI just stayed at the Park Lane hotel. It is really easy to get to....exit E, MTR Causeway . Lots of signs. Only stayed here as we had a doctors appointment at central....and the hotels there get very pricey. This one had twin bed room for $900 HK. Still getting up in price but very well located especially if you need to be close to Central MTR stop.

Peter Anderson replied over 4 years agoLe Meridien is fantastic if you don't have to be in the thick of it. Even the smell is perfect. Great view, unobtrusive staff, funky decor. Love it. Get an Ocean View if you can stretch to it.

Amitabh Sinhgal replied over 4 years agoI stayed at Ramada, Hong Kong, Des Voeux Road, Central ( not the kowloon one ). And it was pretty neat and very reasonably priced (without breakfast). They even upgraded me up to a suite and that was a bonus. Connectivity is never an issue in HK, unless you have work in Kowloon.

Bill Reid replied over 3 years agoThe first mistake everyone is making here is to think only hotel. Hotels are very expensive in Hong Kong but obviously some folks responding here have the money. :-) I mean, come on, Conrad, Four Seasons? HAHA...if you work for a company that can shell out that kind of money or if you have it yourself, your're blessed. But for most of us, not going to happen.
If traveling with family, think Vacation Rental ONLY. You get a ton more room and many bonuses that hotels simply can't offer. I admit, these are hard to find in Hong Kong but I have done the work and located several.
Visit my web site at http://visithk.weebly.com to view many vacation rentals under US $100 a night.
