Take a cab and go visit Antigua or Lake Atitlan.

This tip has the address "Antigua Guatemala"

There a lot of things to do in Guatemala over the weekend. I like to go to the beach, Monterrico or Las Lisas is nice. I also like to go rock climbing and went camping to Volcan Pacaya, I went with Vertical Expeditions. Day trips to Antigua are always nice. Another time I went mountain biking in a coffee plantation. Something fun to do is to go to the theater watch a parody, like "El dia que Teco temio".

Go to Rio Dulce. There are so many things to do near there. Livingston is right on the Caribbean (with Belize a hop away). There is a hot water spring waterfall called Finca Paraiso-- it's amazing. There is also a canyon (I forgot the name) near Finca Paraiso where the locals take you on a canoe trip.

Lake Atitlan-a lake surrounded by volcanoes, is gorgeous.

Chichicastenango is the best place to shop for souvenirs (day trip). It's open Sundays and (Tuesdays?).

Volcan Pacaya is an amazing-- extreme hike.
