John Gibbard replied over 2 years agoMercifully smoke-free in a city obsessed with cigarettes, this little restaurant in the Lycabettus area is a short walk from the excellent St. George Lycabettus hotel on a quiet little street. We booked ahead and were seated directly with English menus. The food was excellent to start with; smoked aubergine and a vegetable moussakka that could easily have grown to a wonderful main course. However, both of us chose pasta dishes that weren't so great. My seafood linguine was fiddly with lots of un-shelled shellfish, picking around in the dish left me with cold pasta and not much substance. A bad choice perhaps but the logisitics of this kind of dish just don't work really so should it even be offered? The plain vegetarian linguine was a little bland too. We elected not to have dessert but the wine we'd ordered by the glass was perfectly drinkable. All this for around £70 made us feel like we were back in London. If I'd have chosen better from the menu for the main I'd call it excellent, otherwise it was a slightly expensive 'good'.
