Nick Potter replied over 3 years agoThe Yorkshire Sculpture Park is just next door to Wakefield and is part of the Bretton Country Park. Its an excellent place to wander around (in nice weather of course) and see many original sculptures. Yorkshire Sculpture Park has over 40 sculptures sited in 500 acres. The Country Park features a changing display of large bronze sculptures by Henry Moore. The Access Sculpture Trail houses a vibrant collection of sculptures by Eduardo Paolozzi, some of which were commissioned by Sir Terence Conran. Lower Park contains a new work, Warts and All by Peter Randall-Page, in addition to sculpture by James Turrell and Andy Goldsworthy.

Matt Kemp replied over 2 years agoTo be fair Wakefield is known as the merry city for good reason, there is a healthy night life with venues to suit all tastes from large energetic clubs to real ale pubs and everything in between. For a good atmosphere I would recomend the Latin quarter with Mex millenium an excellant cocktail bar with salsa and samba music, plus it's all in walking distance to public transport eateries and accomodation. For a lot of people the nightlife is a big draw the people coming from allover the country to take part in the "westgate run"
