Keith Tomlinson replied over 2 years agoI know this is a chain and you can expect the same food and drink you get from any other Cafe Rouge but this one is different. The complete glass and art deco construction of the building gives a truly cosmopolitan feel.
There are several suggestions as to what the building was before it was a restaurant but it lends itself to it’s new role perfectly.
On a sunny day the light shines in through the glass roof and shows off the building and the ambiance to the best effect.
the menu is what you’d expect from a Cafe Rouge and we have never had a bad experience with the food here. The service can be a little slow when busy but the surroundings make up for it.
A lovely spot for a lunch time snack or Sunday Lunch.

Keith Tomlinson replied over 2 years agoAbsolutely love the Waffle House - you have to visit if you are ever in St Albans.
My only gripes are that it’s always incredibly busy therefore you have to be expected to wait at peak times. Don’t expect out of hours service either as The Waffle House only opens during the day.
