Great in the summer or on a nice day as the seating in the best part of the restaurant is outdoors. They do amazing cakes.

Kitsch n d'or (pronounced Kitchen Door) Went their recently. Really nice atmosphere and 2 courses during lunch for £5. I had eggs with salmon for starters and then an enormous bowl of mussels with chips - lush!

There are loads of good restaurants in Gunwharf Quays. The Cafe Rouge is reasonably priced, as is the Slug and Lettuce. La Tasca has tapas dishes available between £1-4 a dish, so can also be quite cheap if you choose well. (You only need about 2-3 dishes a person).

The Golden Bowl on Fawcett Road is an excellent Chinese cafe. Ignore the take-away menu and go for the menu written in Chinese. The staff there will translate it for you. I recommend the braised beef (melts in your mouth) or the fried fish with chillies (rather hot). These run at about £4-5 a dish.
