One of my other favorites in the center of town is the pub Far from the Madding Crowd, although their connection can be somewhat flaky. Ask at the bar for the password.

Closer to the railway station, the Jam Factory is a haunt for Oxford's artists and hipsters, offering great coffees and drinks, slow food, and free Internet for the patrons to load up their Web galleries.
