Niche hotel at the bottom of Grey Street - lovely atmosphere, central location and near to the Tyneside Cinema where I mostly work when I'm up there!

The new Staybridge Suites Hotel on Buxton Street (right near the city centre) but far away enough from the noise. Great for extended stays or even a couple of nights - think of it as home from home. Part of the InterContinental Group of hotels they have great facilities and it doesn't feel like a hotel. Decent rates from appox £79 for their advanced purchase rate prpp.
