Room Restaurant main courses for £7 before 7pm

Room restaurant does nice cocktails (Room Stimulant!) and main courses for seven quid before 7pm. Worth a trip just to see the massive panelled main room, too.

    Cloud 23 Sky Bar

Snazzy cocktail bar on the 23rd floor of the Hilton Hotel on Deansgate. Fabulous views (especially at sunset), great cocktails. Go early as it gets very full later , and then you'll have to queue for the lift and the service slows down a lot.

This tip has the address "Hilton Hotel, Deansgate"

Rusholme curry mile. 5 mins from town, hundreds of asian restaurants. Or one of the independents in the Northern Quarter, The Market restaurant is outstanding.

San Carlo is my favourite place in town (http://www.sancarlo.co.uk/) in deans gate. There is also Grill on the alley , also in deans gate. Restaurant bar and grill near deans gate is also an excellent place. But I highly recommend San Carlo, gives you a chance for celebrity spotting too :)

The Market Restaurant in the Northern Quarter is a perfect place for a great, British meal. It's hearty and warming in perfect, homely surroundings. For something more exotic however, try Japanese-style Tepanyaki in Chinatown, which is truly an unforgettable experience.

Nice, open table seating (which helps because it's basically a part-basement space). Tasty food from a wide variety of Asian cuisines. You can mix an Indian Starter with Thai noodles or some Chinese dumplings with Indonesian gado gado.

Awesome food. I had the corned beef hash, which i'd never have in a restaurant, but this was no regular cbh.

Grill on the Alley is an amazing, friendly, fun place to eat if you have a thing for great quality steaks, coupled with a wide selection of quality wines. Went for my birthday last year and had one of the best meals of my life!

This is possibly my favourite Thai restaurant in Manchester.

Downstairs from street level, if you're looking for somewhere with a view this isn't the place for you, but the restaurant boasts excellent food with plenty to choose from. The staff are very friendly and the prices are good.

My friends love the seafood here, but I'm not a massive fish fan so can only vouch for the vegetarian and meaty mains. The tri-flavoured crispy duck main course is amazing.

Best place to eat killer steaks in Manchester. Nice service, great food. Only the interior decoration is a bit weird.

Always busy due to it's very tasty & generously portioned tapas, if you can't finish it all they'll give you a doggy bag to take it home in

Popular with students (but what isn't on the Oxford Road corridor), it has a good menu with student friendly prices, free wifi, a specials board and a decent range of beers from around the world.
