What's the best thing for visitors to do at the weekend?

  Walk across Hampstead Heath from Highgate to Hampstead. In Hampstead, refuel at Louis' Patisserie - lovely old fashioned tearoom with proper tealeaves, china cups covered in rosebuds, and utterly delicious cake. Then walk up to Fenton House, a tiny country house in the middle of the city with a lovely garden and Orchard (National Trust). Before you head back across the Heath, pick up an ice from the lovely Slice of Ice on Flask Walk. When you get back to the Boating Pond on the Highgate side of the Heath, look out for a chap sailing a remote control yacht or maybe steering a miniature steamboat on the pond. I'll be sitting by him on the bank, knitting. Say hello!
