The City Merchant, Candleriggs, Merchant City is beautiful and a great start to a trip to Glasgow. Easy to nip next door to a bar or club afterwards too. Wood pannelling, stained glass, and great old fashioned service make this a perfect place to eat. Food is wonderful, Scottish menu full of seafood, good beef and more. I live down south at the moment, but make it my first port of call when I come home.

Try the Glasgow Oysters, - oysters with tabasco and a shot of vodka to wash it all down with.
