Great food and drink in the west end. Opened after I left Glasgow but I've been since and it's fab.

Andrew Kellard replied over 5 years agoTchai Ovna
Tchai Ovna combines a massive selection of tea with a small but delicious food menu and houses it all within a warm domesticity you won't find elsewhere in the city. A genuinely relaxing experience (you may well lose hours of your life and not even notice).

Steve Hunter replied over 4 years agoRistorante Caprese
The best Italian in the city! A tiny little basement place, but the food is fabulous and the atmosphere authentically Glaswegian-Italian. If there is an Italy match on then one table is normally removed to make way for the TV and shrine to Italian football. On the rare occasions that stuffed courgette flowers are on the menu, fill your boots!

Adam Cobb replied over 4 years agoAmalfi Pizzeria
Brilliant, Brilliant pizzeria just off the main shopping thoroughfares of Buchanan and Sauchiehall Streets. Formally popular with various stars of stage and screen in the 40s and 50s this place now provides great, well priced food. Don't leave without trying the Amalfi Spaghetti

I've put a few of my restaurant recommendations on www.goodrec.com but I've only been living here a couple of months so bear with me and I'll add some more as I go along :)

Bob Taylor replied over 4 years agoI second the recommendation for Cafe Gondolfi, but would also highly recommend its sister restaurant - Cafe Gandolfi: Fish - just a few doors down. The menu changes regularly reflecting what seafood is fresh, the staff/service are excellent, they do a decent lunchtime deal and most importantly - the food is fantastic. I've been several times and can't think of a single negative thing to say.

Daniel Samson replied over 3 years agoIf you want real nice south Indian food, then go to Banana Leaf, just round the corner from Kelvingrove Art Gallery. Not the prettiest place to eat in, better to go and get a take away, sit outside and enjoy.
