What's the best thing for visitors to do at the weekend?

  Kelvingrove museum is fantastic, and there are loads of great places in that area to eat and drink - try Firebird on Argyll st for both. Pollock Park and the Burrell collection are also great, and the Tramway in the south side of Glasgow is a brilliant place - it has a theatre, cafe, exhibitions, and a beautiful zen garden to hang out in on sunny days.
