Great food, great staff, great experience. Well worth a visit

this is the best pub in exeter. it's not just the food which is always good and sometimes exceptional. it's not just the range of drinks which is unusual. it's just a real pub full of real people who use it as a pub. sept09 there's a 3 wk theatre thing on downstairs. if nothing else try the homemade bread with oil and a glass of wine or a good pint. there are few of these i've encountered in a lifetime.

not far out of central exeter - maybe 10 minutes - and worth the detour. the welcome and the staff are superb and the food's even better. my son's kiwi girlfriend who is a serious foodie has not stopped talking about the soup she had here
