Ben Ward replied over 3 years agoAlthough the River Exe here is ugly & constrained like a ship canal it's still a huge area of green and space, with no traffic (except bikes). A walk from St David's Station to Exeter Quay is a nice way to spend half an hour. The river opens up at the Quay and the valley widens out, with more green space downstream between the river and the canal. From the Quay take a steep walk back up to the city to see the Cathedral & Green, or hire a bike and get down to The Double Locks or if you're energetic, even further down to The Turf at the start of the estuary, which is only accessible by boat or bike/foot... or canoe.
