Saffrani on South College Street. The best Indian food I've ever had, and great service. Overlooked by most because of being tucked away off South Bridge. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed....

If you fancy veggie try David Bann's - very relaxed and would be perfect for a romantic meal out. The mushroom curry with spicy potato cakes and pineapple chutney that was delicious. The whole meal was reasonably priced too -2 courses each, wine, coffee only £25 a head. Not bad for a treat. We also ate at Viva Mexico on Cockburn Street which I would highly recommend as well.
