You must go - it's the most incredibly charming little French Cuban restaurant possible, with an intimate bar. Try the Cuban sandwich and the periodista. Perfection.

Daniele Orner Ginor replied over 4 years agoThe Green Dragon
One of the oldest and most charming pubs in Cambridge. The food and atmosphere are excellent! Located just on the river Cam, 15 min off the city center by bike. From Magdalene College, continue along the river, pass the Fort St. Georges pub and the Victorian Museum of Technology (in front of the big white new bridge), and cross the river at the Green Dragon Bridge.

Owned by neighbouring Corpus Christi College and about ten paces to their new library and it's amazing clock. The "RAF bar" at the back has graffiti by WWII pilots, and if that's not enough history, here at lunchtime on 28 February 1953 Francis Crick announced the discovery of DNA.
Oh, and pretty good fish and chips, Greene King ales and beers on tap.

many of the restaurants on regent street are pretty decent such as De Luca Cucina & Bar 83 Regent St Cambridge, CB2 1AW, United Kingdom 01223 356666 http://www.delucacucina.co.uk/
and there is Loch Fyne Cambridge Restaurant if you like seafood 37 Trumpington St Cambridge, CB2 1QY, United Kingdom 01223 362433 http://www.lochfyne.com
they are pretty pricy but for business meal pretty good
the classic browns which used to be part of the hospital and always good ! 23 Trumpington St, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB2 1QA, United Kingdom - 01223 461655 cant book just turn up they ALWAYS have tables and have a cocktail bar its all open and very good

Nathan Farrow replied over 3 years agoRestaurant Alimentum has to be the best dining experience in Cambridge. I don't usually go for 'ethically sourced food' but rather what tastes best - but this place does both! A great meal and wine selection, awesome staff, and lovely ambience. I heard that people are travelling out of London in order to eat there, and I don't blame them - a faultless restaurant.
Browns (for me) is dated and has let itself go a little bit, Loch Fyne however remains a great choice for seafood.
If you're looking for a good old pub - I agree with the post above - The Eagle is the place to go!

Dave Kim replied over 3 years agoPanahar near the Grafton Centre is our favourite place for a curry. Cozy little place that doesn't look like the traditional Indian restaurant.
But I'd also third the recommendation for CB2, which is just down the road.

Danny Wolpert replied over 3 years agoFor a pub without 'one-armed bandits' and really excellent food in a mellow atmosphere Try the Free Press http://www.freepresspub.com/ It's famously smoke free (even before the national ban in pubs) and mobile phone free. Very friendly and relaxing place to eat out.

Kristi Dunlap replied over 3 years agoRainbow Cafe is one of my personal favourites in Cambridge. They serve fantastic vegetarian food, and they also offer vegan and gluten free options. But even if you're not vegetarian the food is still fantastic and they have lovely wait staff. I eat here all the time.
Cambridge Blue is an excellent real ales pub with decent food- the beer is fantastic and the food is not too bad.
