Neil Cocker replied over 3 years agoCardiff's rubbish for free wi-fi. Generally it's pay-for-access via Starbucks type coffee places. But I've recently discovered that the Laguna bar/restaurant (which is attached to the Park Plaza hotel) has free wifi and does nice snacks and coffee. It's fairly pricey, but at least the wifi is free.
I hear that all Wetherspoons pubs now have free wifi, but I've yet to try this myself.
This tip has the address "Greyfriars Rd, Cardiff" -
Andrew Williams replied over 2 years agoAll Brains pubs also have free wifi for customers, and the Cardiff University guest wifi sometimes doesn't ask for a login if you're around a university building. There's a google map of wifi hotspots in Cardiff on this page (don't forget to add if you find anything new!): http://www.wifi-in-cardiff.co.uk/

Chris Palmer replied about 1 year agoCardiff Central Library, not only is it free, you don't need to register, you get to sit down using a table for your laptop, and you can plug your laptop into an electric socket thats under the table.
Reasonably fast, but don't use Internet Explorer on your laptop, as their server blocks certain websites (certain media websites, multiply.com, etc.) accessed using IE 6/7/8. Use Firefox instead.
