Libby Miller replied over 4 years agoI can't choose one. Cafe Delight on the Gloucester Road: http://www.cafedelight.co.uk/ or the Full Moon http://www.fullmoonbristol.co.uk/ on Stokes Croft nearer town, which is also a backpackers and a pub. Both great food, cheapish, lots of locally surced and organic stuff. The York Cafe http://www.theyorkcafe.co.uk/ is right near Cabot circus and is a great greasy spoon, check out the blankets for smokers outside.

Nick Piggott replied over 4 years agoThere are several Thali Cafes in the city (http://www.onestopthali.co.uk) which do great Indian food at sensible prices. There's a whole gaggle of food stalls (including a great Soup+Salad stall) in St. Nicholas' Market. The Princes Pantry, just by Princes Street Bridge, is good old-fashioned completely unreconstructed snack-hut, but does amazing bacon butties on a cold morning. In the summer, The Spyglass boat on Welsh Back (www.spyglassbristol.co.uk) is pretty good - a bit pricey. The best contemporary pan-Asian food (and they do a budget lunch) is at Budokan (www.budokan.co.uk).
