The Open Market off London road is a great down to earth shopping area. The stalls include three bike shops, including 'Grandad's' and the Amsterdam Bike shop (run by an Icelander- go figure). It's also got a great low cost wholefood shop (bring your own tubs) and a 'herbalist' of distinction.

Bill's in the Lanes is great for shopping and grabbing a lunch. Not cheap but definitely worth it.

The Sunday Market always has some good bargins I think.. It has books, second hand, fruit & veg, clothes, basically its a car boot sale but also has a tea place that does amazing door wedge style cheese on toast! The Market is now at the Marina, but used to be on the Train Station car park. Its on every Sunday morning, starts early like 7am and packs up around 1-2pm depending on the weather.
