    Where to eat in Aberdyfi

When you’re ready for a break from the beach or need a shot of espresso before looking around the collection of small, specialist shops, try Y Bwtri Blasus for coffee and cakes. For dinner book into the brand new Seabreeze restaurant on Bodfor Terrace for heartwarming food (and now the best place in town to eat - despite what you read in the Sunday Times about the Britannia Inn, or what you remember about the Penhelig, before Brains Brewery bought the place – although the Pen is still the best place to enjoy an early evening summer drink, looking down the estuary as the sun sets over Cardigan Bay).

    Where to shop in Aberdyfi

Our favourite places are Seld (the beautifully curated decorative interiors shop within Llety Bodfor); The Braided Rug Company (for exquisite plaited rugs and baskets) Samphire (a great place for casual clothing) and Nandoras (for elegant ladies wear). For specialist foods (and coffee and cake) try Y Bwtri Blasus and for fresh fish and seafood pay a visit to Gill's.

One of the great things to do is to get the train from Aberdyfi (just outside the lovely Penhelig Arms) along the track to Tywyn and then walk back beside the rolling tide of Cardigan Bay.
