    Stay in an apartment

If you'll be in Paris longer than a couple of nights, look for an apartment to stay in. You can find offers on www.fusac.com, www.lodgis.com or www.pap.fr for example.

Nasty chain hotel that is worth avoiding - not near much that's good, no facilities in the small, bare room, everything is an expensive extra. Cheap in everything except price.

A really nice and cosy small hotel in Monmartre, near Sacre Coeur, with plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. Clean, with tasteful decorations, each room bears a name of an artist.

The Hotel Le Relais Madeleine, is a beautiful place located in the heart of Paris,a few paces away from the Madeleine Church, the Opera and the place de la Concorde. Everything is done to offer guests a perfect stay. The bedrooms have a romantic interior design, flowerly and colorful which reminds the atmosphere of the South of France. Many facilites are available like a patio to savour your french breakfast, a sauna to relax after a long day of visits... The staff is really helpful! Paul Anka will do a concert in Paris In June 2010. It could be the opportunity to find again in his voice this bit of nostalgia that takes you back to your childhood.During this trip, stay at the hotel Le Relais Madeleine could be the ideal place. The hotel's director was in the 60's, an autograph-hunter, so you could discover numerous famous people's autographs in this hotel. It is well-located near the Olympia. The hotel will create a special package for the event.

This hotel is a wonder in Paris. A friend recommended it for my trip in Paris. It is a nice design place , with a perfect location (just at few walks from the Eiffel Tower). We stayed in a wonderful modern place with a interior design composed by clock faces. Really Funny! It's most important asset is its Chocolate Bar. An unique concept in Paris where you can drink a cup of chocolate and savour macaroons. I would like to stay ine the Cadran Hotel again! http://www.paris-hotel-cadran.com/

I've known this charming hotel since its renovation. My couple friends recommended it to me. Then I got this romantic plan to spend my Valentine's Day with my boyfriend in Paris. 'Cause the Grand Hotel Dore is located in one of the liveliest districts of the capital, which is great advantage for most of visitors. We've done a lot of shopping too! From Daumesnil to Faubourg Saint Antoine, passing by the Road Lappe and Roquette, dozens of bars, cafes, restaurants offer both visitors and Parisians a vibrant scene. In addition, all the delicate details and its welcoming atmosphere make our stay a great experience!

The reason I love the Grand Hotel Francais is for its perfect combination of tradition and modernity. You never know what's the next thing to surprise you!

It's near the Bastille and the Marais District, where the terraces of cafes bloom in summer. And you'll love its renovated rooms with cozy and contemporary atmosphere. The 40 carefully renovated rooms offer comfort for both businessmen and tourists' demanding. The warm decor use materials such as limed oak and mosaic as well as the elegant technique of stucco. In revisiting the traditional French hotel is like a residential house to accommodate its customers as friends.

Moreover, you can also get a drink at night in its cool bar. That's really relaxing!

We've stayed there twice now in 1997 and 2010 and had a wonderful experience both times.

A very friendly family owned and operated hotel close to the Miromensil Metro stop and a 5-10 min walk to the Champs Elysees.

Please note there may be a "curfew" so talk to the staff they mightbe able to work something out? My wife and I were always home well before hand so we wouldn't know. :P

Since I've just come back from Paris, I'd like to recommend this super great hotel near Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Luxembourg Gardens in central Paris. The design of Apostrophe is based of poems and stories, as the hotel is very colorful. This gay-friendly hotel is very open-minded, and the service and staff is commited and reliable.

Nice enough designer hotel. However the halls are so dark it is hard to even find the keyhole in the door. Nice bar but drinks are pricey. Close to the wonderful Marais quaters.

The Hotel de Notre Dame Maitre Albert is a delightful independent modern hotel. Entirely renovated, rooms and lobby and sophistically decorated and furniture’s are clean and practically new. The place is really charming, so as the work made with the lightening: in the bathroom, light changes depending of the music you choose from a wide variety of relaxing compilations… very soothing. Every room includes TV, phone, mini bar and iphone music player.

The hotel boasts its cute red facade in a typical and quiet Parisian street, right in the city center of Paris. Indeed, you will be just next to Notre Dame and Montebello’s quay, and only five minutes’ walk from the famous St Michel Boulevard. Just perfect to visit the whole Rive Gauche side of the romantic French city and make your stay enchanting. I would definitely stay here again!

You’ll find this St Christopher’s hostel in the most modern, vibrant and rejuvenated neighbourhood in Paris – the 19th District. The area is a hotspot for great nights out and romance along the scenic canals - featured in Amélie.

A brand new, purpose built hostel is right next to the Bassin de la Villette – connecting the River Seine to the famous Canal St-Martin. It’s also one of the most well connected Backpacker bases in the French capital, with three Metro lines nearby!

You can reach the hostel in 10 minutes from the Eurostar terminus as Gare du Nord and when you’re settled into one of the great rooms, it’s just as easy to head out again and see all the top attractions. They have live music, a great Belushi's Bar, free internet access, a soundproof nightclub in the basement, a sauna and of course, the beautiful backdrop used in the fantastic film Amélie.

Rent an apartment in Paris to see in 2011 After a less-than-great 2010, my partner and I are looking for 2011 to bring a change of circumstances. So, to get things off to what we hope will literally be a sparkling start, we’ll be seeing in the New Year in the City of Light – we’ve booked a rented apartment in Paris, thanks to a company called My Apartment in Paris. http://www.my-apartment-in-paris.com/en/the_left_bank_experience.php

Mama Shelter – it may not be located smack in the middle of Place de la Concorde, but the location is probably the reason why the hotel won't smash your piggybank to pieces. The hotel itself offers a busy bar with great atmosphere, decent drinks and the live music stage La Fleche d'Or across the street. The pizzas served in the in-house pizza place are rumoured to be top notch. On top of that you have free in-hotel movies, free WiFi and a service-minded staff and some quirky design tweaks by that Starck-guy. Don't pick this hotel if a central location and room service 24/7 are non-negotiables. If you'd like to pay less and still stay somewhere that looks/feels nice, then this may just be the place.
