just waliking around paris I found many open connections in the street

Most open "jardins" have Wifi. They often post signs outside the parks gates with the providers.

Almost any parc, and I think most McDonalds'... but honestly, that's a bit of a sacrifice, especially in France!

The 3ème arrondissement offers free WiFi throughout the area, courtesy of the Mairie; this might be happening in more arrondissements...

Also, if you go to the Starbucks on the Avenue de l'Opéra (1er) you can catch the free WiFi of La Ferme from across the street -- this network closes for lunch between 13 and 14 or something, but otherwise it's pretty fast.

Centre Pompidou has free open wifi and they don't seem to mind you sitting there for ages using it. Upstairs to the left as you enter is a good spot with comfy cube things to sit on.

Yes McDonalds is where I always go. Not that I love the food.....

Le Petit Marcel at marais You can have lunch and check your e-mail, the food is nice but space is no abundant so laptops are no that easy to flap open, it's better to use the iPhone/iPod ;)

Le Cafe Des Inities has fast free internet. It's a pleasant café, although the beers and coffees are not the cheapest.
