    Travelling by Train

Regarding getting to Morzine/Les Gets by train, Mr and Mrs Smith says: "Not really a convenient option beyond Geneva, although the nearest train station to Les Gets is in Cluses, about 40 minutes away."

What a load of rubbish. Thonon les Bains is also a close station, and has direct trains from Paris. However, it's more convenient to get a train towards Geneva and change at Bellegarde, then get on the Evian-bound train and get off at Thonon. Or head towards Lyon and change at Lyon part Dieu bound for Thonon. SAT run buses from Thonon to Morzine (the Morzine tourist office can usually supply a timetable), otherwise you can share a taxi.

If travelling by train and booking with Rail Europe, it might be a good idea to phone them up and do your booking that way, especially if you want to go the much cheaper route (Paris-Bellegarde-Thonon) rather than the route their website always seems to suggest (Paris-Lyon-Thonon).
