Taryn East replied over 2 years agoThe reconstructed medieval city of Carcassonne is a UNESCO world heritage site - and well deserving of it. It is exquisitely beautiful. You can spend all day wandering the little streets, eating in the *many* restaurants (and I fully recommend the local dish of duck cassoulet). and don't forget to visit the Palais Comptal - it gives a full history of the town - including the rebuilding during the time of Bonaparte.
