Kim Weckström replied over 4 years agoThere is a real bare bone Finnish hotel concept called Omena for the budget traveler. No personnel! Only a smartcard. If you are a lobbyfobia sufferer, this is a place for you. No people on the payroll you have to great in the mornings. Reservations on the Internet only http://www.omena.com/frontpage.

Michael Tobian replied over 4 years agoEach time I visit Helsinki, I try to get a room in the Crowne Plaza (http://www.crowneplaza-helsinki.fi/). First Class Service at reasonable price. All rooms have free internet access (wired). A small fee applies for wireless LAN. From the upper floors one can have a beautiful view over the finnish capital.
This tip has the address "Crowne Plaza Helsinki - Mannerheimintie 50 - 00260 Helsinki" -
Kim Weckström replied over 3 years agoPalace Hotel, very Finnish - Alvar Aalto - designed, tranquil and with great restaurants: Palace Gourmet is the classic fine dining restaurant besides Savoy in Helsinki. Early evening drinks at the American bar. Summer breakfasts with a view over the Helsinki harbor is a must. The only downside is that the original Aalto interiors are gone. http://www.palacekamp.fi/in_english/hotels/hotel_palace/
