Lisa Sounio replied over 3 years agoCafe (Kahvila) Tamminiemi, an eccentric & romantic cafe in an old mansion from the 19th century is run by extraordinary Polish Madame Grazyna Kokkonen. Ms Kokkonen has a firm and intriguing character that adds exciting flavor to this historic place, that is located next to Seurasaari National Park and Former president's Urho Kekkonen Museum. Kekkonen, Finland's president for a quarter of a century could have had Grazyna as a sister, because they both are charismatic, strong willed and ruled the territory for a long time. Tamminiemi has a salon filled with old renessaince sofas and chairs, as if you would be sitting at some heiresses' grandmothers place sipping russion tea with rasberry jam and huge slices of Polish Sacher cake or juicy apple pie. Tea and cakes are pricey, but this place is worth a visit. In summertime you can relax in the garden and dream up a novel or detective story. This comes naturally because the place has tons of character and russian tea cups... On the same street there is also Villa Angelika, another fabulously furnished Mansion & a cafe.
